Weekend News – 18th May

This weekend was another jam-packed, action-filled few days at St Mary’s.

Saturday ‘Enrichment’ involved gardening club, cookery and animal husbandry including bathing the tortoises and tending to the bees.

In the evening, day girls arrived to join boarders on the Party on the Lawn, a hugely successful, fun evening involving dancing, festival face-paints, hot dogs, drinks, the much-loved Galaxy Thief, a Wheelbarrow disco, not to mention the all-important live Eurovision Song Contest playing in the Blue Common Room (much to the delight of our Spanish boarders!).

On Sunday, an intrepid group of boarders headed to Skirmish, Dorset, to enjoy a day out paintballing. Dressed in ‘camo’, this mighty group of St Mary’s girls split into teams and enjoyed running through the forest, working in teams to defeat the opposition.  They returned to school exhausted but elated after a really fun, active day out.

The weekend came to an end with the Sunday liturgy with some beautiful Taizé chanting in the chapel, led by chaplaincy prefect, Pia.

A busy weekend with the girls spending most of their time outside enjoying the sunny weather and making the most of the wonderful grounds surrounding St Mary’s.
