Visiting Speaker Joanna Bogle

The sixth form girls were privileged to receive a lecture from author and journalist Joanna Bogle about her experiences as a journalist and also about her beliefs this week. During the talk she outlined the significance of Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body for the twenty first century women, which she believes gives dignity and value to women, preventing their objectification. She spoke about her grandmother’s association with Emmeline Pankhurst and the support she gave to the cause for women’s suffrage. Her lively presentation, her faith, as well as her vast knowledge on every conceivable subject was breath-taking, and we hope that she will join us again to broaden our perspective and sharpen our intellectual curiosity.
