University Fair

On Friday, all the sixth form travelled to Bristol to attend a university fair where they enjoyed a couple of hours wandering around the different stalls, learning about the opportunities that will benefit them in the future. Each university stall proved information on the wide variety of courses they offered, giving away prospectuses which detailed the different UCAS requirements and open day dates.

A more personal approach allowed the girls to speak directly to some current students at the universities, which was more insightful than reading a booklet and hopefully answered many of the questions that both the Lower and Upper sixth had. There were several seminars provided by the event, especially posed towards the girls heading into university next year, covering topics ranging from student life to handling a budget.

The event even offered the opportunity of apprenticeships, where one course even appealed to the talented horse riders amongst us! At the end of the day, the girls lugged back bags filled with leaflets and booklets, to help decide future plans, and, of course, the odd free badge or two.
