Under the Same Sun – Refugee Week

Throughout this week, we have been taking part in Refugee Week, to change the way people perceive refugees. The girls have written poetry on the theme of welcome, created welcome banners and written messages which we will send to Migrant Help.

They have also learnt and performed ‘Under the Same Sun‘. Our chapel has a wonderful display of origami butterflies, symbols of hope, made by the girls. Inside each one is a prayer for all those who have been forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution.

The colourful display is a reminder of the colour and value that is added to our society when we welcome in new people and cultures and offer them an opportunity to thrive.
