Triple Win V Leweston

Wet weather didn’t put the girls off some excellent play at home matches over the first weekend of February!

The 1st team had a fantastic match against Leweston, winning convincingly 18-2, the game was end to end, but St Mary’s managed to secure their shots on goal with some dynamic moves in the circle and the immense defence from Caro and Ollie prevented Leweston from having enough opportunities to catch up. Coaches players of the match has to go to Caro, who not only led the team brilliantly on and off the court, but for her phenomenal timing and reactions in her role as GD and also Fizz for her composure and determination on court.

In the 2nds, everyone worked very well together as team and took control from the beginning. Cassia, Flo and Ellie showed great determination with some fabulous shooting. Mary, Electra, and Tallulah stayed strong keeping the ball away. Whilst Jess and Cicely help keep the flow, especially in the centre court. The determination payed off with a well-deserved win of 16-5.

The under 15’s match ended in a positive win of 30-5 to St Mary’s. Despite the rainy weather the team was able to fight for the ball and intercept lots of passes, so the ball was able to reach the attack. It was a great match and has helped prepare the team for their North Dorset tournament that is coming up. Player of the match went to Bego and Alexa and coache’s player went to Bella.
