Thought for the Week by Annunziata C, LVI

Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

Faith is the glue that holds so many aspects of our lives in one place.  It’s not necessarily a faith in religion but a faith in those who love us and those whom we love in return. To have faith of any sorts provides us with the foundations for making something beautiful out of our lives. When we find ourselves in a difficult situation and then proceed to take faith out of the equation we are left with half of what we had in the first place.

The beauty of faith is that even when things look dark and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and you can see no way out of this oppressing and suffocating feeling, faith is there.  It is simply hiding but if we focus on it, no matter the pain that we are in possession of, we will find it and it is our duty once we find it to nurture it so that it grows. Faith is our constant companion. It gives us a feeling which tells us that we are not alone and that we can overcome the daily struggles that life holds for us.
