Shaftesbury Community Tennis Club

On 2nd January 2020, Shaftesbury Community Tennis Club (formerly at Shaftesbury School) moved into St Mary’s School. The Community Club has 107 members who may now share St Mary’s Tennis facilities, which include twelve floodlit Astroturf courts, 6 hard courts and an indoor court in the sports hall. Griffin Tennis Academy, which provides the coaching programme at Shaftesbury Community Tennis Club, will develop the coaching programme further, now that courts can be used at certain times during day.

Shaftesbury Community Tennis Club offers regular social activities, two club sessions on  Wednesdays 7.30-9pm and Sundays 9.30-10.30am, summer club championships, and all-year-round adult teams in the LTA Dorset leagues and Yeovil and District leagues. For Juniors, there are friendly matches with other clubs during the winter and teams are entered into the LTA summer leagues. Membership also gives you the opportunity to be in the Club’s Wimbledon ballot for tickets to The Championships. Griffin Tennis Academy also offers members discounted coaching rates and 10% off racket restringing.

Shaftesbury Community Tennis Club welcomes new members, who  may join by visiting their website at Membership runs 1st April – 31st March but new members pay pro-rata, therefore for an adult to join is £15 for January to March 2020, and juniors pay just £7.

All St Mary’s girls get free membership, and parents, staff and swimming pool members get 25% off.
