Final Match Reports – October 2017

Thursday 19th October
U14 XI v Bryanston at St Mary’s
WON 6-0

A brilliant game! The team were brilliant at realising their potential. They kept their shape, passing the ball well and controlled the game. Great scores from Tess x 2, Fleur, Lily, Ioana and finally a goal for Poppy after chasing one for a few matches!

Charlotte and Amelia worked particularly well at creating space and movement off the ball.

It was a pleasure to watch despite the weather, and a great game to finish this half term off with!

Well done U14’s!

Coach’s Player of the Match: Charlotte B
Players’ Player of the Match: Fleur H
Special Mention to the WHOLE team for ABSOLUTELY brilliant team play and for making it happen!

Thursday 19th October
U14 XI v Bryanston at Bryanston
Lost 1-0

The best game the under 15s have played. They kept their shape well against a tough Bryanston opposition. The whole team rose to the challenge posed by Bryanston in the pouring rain and kept them out of the goal for two thirds of the game. Great play by the defence and good running by the forwards had Bryanston worried as they kept piling on the pressure and St Mary’s turned defence into attack on several occasions.

Awesome defending in layers stopped Bryanston getting through to goal but when they did, Lottie kept them out with ease and although all girls were soaked to the skin at the end of the match, all girls recognised the brilliant standard they all played. It was a pleasure to umpire this match. It was an excellent game.

Coach’s Player of the Match: Alexa G and Isabella M
Players’ Player of the Match: Bea L
Special Mention to Bella S and Rosanna W for taking their chances well.
