Fantastic A Level Results at St Mary’s Shaftesbury

The days of coming in to school to find out A Level results are nearly over, with most pupils logging on early in the morning to discover what grades they’ve achieved and whether or not they’ve got their place at university.

Still, there was a buzz at St Mary’s Shaftesbury today when results were released and the vast majority of girls achieved, or topped, their predictions. Languages, Geography and Photography were particular strengths, with As and A*s across the board in these subjects.

Chris Enos, Deputy Head, Academic, said, “We were pleased to see so many of our girls do so well this summer.  Girls and teachers alike have relished the challenge of the new A Levels; linear study allows us to go into greater depth in certain areas, and we’ve been really encouraged by the effect of the greater maturity, and immersion in their subjects, of girls when they’ve taken the exams after two years of study.

“Results have been great, enabling nearly all girls to go on to the university of their choice next year, with a few making a post qualification application and going in with a strong set of grades.

Congratulations to everyone!”
