Enriching Weekends

This term saw the start of our unique Saturday Enrichment Programme; the weekends begin for our boarders with a delicious, hearty breakfast before they start a course of their choosing which runs for the duration of the morning. They then have the afternoons available for sports training, matches, activities, study or relaxation, followed by House events and socials in the evenings.

The objective of the Enrichment programme is to stretch the girls, give them tasters of skills, past times and subjects which they might want to go on to study or develop as part of their academic or ongoing co-curricular schedules. The sessions also encourage new friendships and provide opportunities to broaden horizons. This term began with the following eclectic mix of options:

Astronomy, Cooking, Sailing, Critical Thinking: Feminism, Fencing, Sing your Heart Out, Beekeeping, Lifeguarding, Basketball and Badminton.

Making the most of our talented staff who can share their skills and knowledge, as well as drawing on external experts to lead the Singing group (a brilliant, blue-haired opera talent who has lead school choirs for nearly two decades and finds talent in all), and the Fencing course, and of course the sailing school in Weymouth, we can open up a world of opportunity to the girls.

Next half of term there is a chance to try out different options and we’re looking forward to the same enthusiastic approach which girls have shown so far.
