David Heyes- Double Bass Concert

Next week sees the second of this season’s St Mary’s Music Society concerts.  David Heyes will be performing on Thursday 25th January at 7:30pm in the Campion Hall.  David is a specialist double bass tutor at Wells Cathedral School and, alongside a performing career that has taken him around the world, he is Artistic Director of Bass-Fest, runs his own publishing company (Recital Music) and writes for The Strad and Music Teacher magazines.

His concert, ‘Around the World’ promises to be an exciting exploration of  music from ten countries, including China, Russia, Finland and Georgia.  Among the pieces will be music written by composers of today and by David himself.

The St Mary’s Music Society concerts are designed to encourage young people to enjoy the opportunity to hear live concert performances.  Tickets for students under 18 are free of charge, and adults pay just £5 to attend.  You can book your tickets here.
